The Known Tribe
The Pueblo Tribe is known as a modern and sacred Native American tribe. Pueblo means town or village in Spanish. Pueblo is one of the Native American tribes that is still around today. Ancestral Pueblos, their ancestors, lived long ago migrated to southwest Arizona and New Mexico. Today Pueblos still live in their ancestors houses and their migrated locations. The populations of Pueblos today are about 10,000 people.
The pueblo traditionally lived in houses with hole shaped squares as windows made out of thick mud that was sun-dried, then later turned into bricks. This type of mud they use is called adobe.
Pueblos Culture
Famous creativity they love to enjoy pottery. It was highly developed skill during the Classic Pueblo Period. This period lated AD 1150-1350. Around this time ancestral Pueblos lived at this time before they migrated. They had good irrigation systems to grow corn, beans and squash which was the main crop growing foods. They hunted deer elk, sheep, and rabbits. They used their meat for food, skin for clothing and bones for tools. Though their cultures were related they speak different languages, but most Pueblos today speak English.
The Pueblo Revolt
Around 1680 the Spanish started to take Pueblo land, lives and souls for decades. Since the Spanish were over lords and had so much power the Pueblos were hopeless. The Spanish was planning to drive them out and restore (replace) them. Until one day a man named Pope was there to stop the situation. The Pueblo citizens called the Pope the “All Indian Leader”. Him and many Pueblo participants fought to fight with force.They were full of hate and was all focused on the same task which was to get their land back. This was war and it is known as history to The Pueblo tribes today. This revenge war was called “The Pueblo Revolt”. They soon to make it and win but some lives were lost and were never forgotten. They rejoiced with celebration and continued with their lives.
